Hi Tom,
As we did last year, the Federal Blvd Partnership would like to support your May clean up in Jefferson Park. We organize clean up along Federal Blvd.
Last year's event was a great success for us, as I know it was for you. We want to fully support JPUN in your efforts to improve the Jefferson Park neighborhood.
Our FBP website is about to be new and improved, so in a couple of weeks, please check it out.
I tried finding your email address on your website, but thought this might be better so as to let all the members know that the FBP applauds your great organization and would like to help you out as much as we can.

Hey JPUN web site visitors...

Official word on the website updates and changes will get out early in March, so hopefully then we'll start seeing a pick up in user commentary. what everyone should know, web site features will be added as when need/demand warrant and contributors/resources are available to implement the needed changes. In the meantime, this USER FEEDBACK page is a catch all for all your QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, SUGGESTIONS or ANNOUNCEMENTS. If you have specific concerns about a particular aspect of the neighborhood, I suggest you look at the "Committees" page and see if there is a contact there to direct you question to the chairperson. Also, the best way to create change, is to get involved! JPUN can always use volunteer and financial donations, you can contact Board Members by viewing the "About JPUN" page. That's all, type away!

I'm glad to learn that someone new has taken over the newsletter, as it has become my primary means of information concerning the neighborhood. I do have a question for you: Will you also be updating the blog? Other neighborhoods in the city use blogs to communicate what is happening and it has proven to be very effective. Since my work schedule typically doesn't allow me to come to the meetings, and the newsletter has traditionally been very brief, I have a hard time keeping up. It would be great if we could have some active contributors on the site.

Persistance and Followup -- I couldn't agree more. In fact, the most important phase of Jefferson Park neighborhood planning is only now beginning -- the zoning update (plan implementation). If you have been discouraged by recent events, it is time to get over it! Participation is more important now than ever before.

Unless and until zoning regulations are in place to implement neighborhood plans, there will be no certainty regarding future land use and development in Jefferson Park. The City-hired consultant team (Code Studios of Austin, Texas) is working on the City of Denver Zoning Update. Lee Einsweiller of Code Studios will be highlighting proposed zoning changes affecting Jefferson Park and other neighborhoods at a meeting in the Convention Center on August 22 (4:30 to 6PM) -- zoning changes needed to achieve neighborhood vsions. See notice of meeting time and place below:

The Zoning Code Task Force and Denver Community Planning and Development Department are hosting a series of community briefings in August to:

- Report on the Zoning Code Update progress to date
- Present the proposed new zoning approach to protecting established neighborhood character in Denver’s areas of stability
- Present an overview of the revised Zoning Code’s structure and content, highlighting proposed major changes and revisions
- Please attend the session most convenient for you.

    Date Time Place

Background:

The Zoning Code Update is making steady progress in the effort to bring Denver’s current regulations into closer alignment with desired development patterns envisioned in adopted plans such as the Denver Comprehensive Plan 2000 and Blueprint Denver. Early accomplishments include the launch of a web-enabled zoning map that provides customers and city staff with more convenient, efficient, and accurate access to information. (Visit www.denvergov.org and select “Denver Maps,” then “Property,” then “Zoning,” and enter a property address.) Other accomplishments include completion of a “Diagnostic Report” that comprehensively evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of Denver’s existing Zoning Code, and an “Annotated Outline” that summarizes the revised code’s new organization and describes major changes and recommended revisions.
