Boulevard and Jefferson Park Town Square Streetscape Project Kick-Off Thursday, February 24th

COME EARLY for the JPUN HAPPY HOUR at 5:30pm!  Adams Mystery Playhouse , 2406 Federal (entrance in rear).

What is your vision for the “look and feel”, with the type of places you like to visit or shop along portions of the Boulevard and Jefferson Park Town Square? The Partnership is hoping to help answer these questions for a pilot area along several blocks of Federal Boulevard and W. 25th Avenue in Jefferson Park in the coming months.

The Partnership in collaboration with Jefferson Park United Neighbors is now set to kick-off the design portion of the Streetscape project with the first public meeting Thursday, February 24, 6:30 PM (6:00 sign-in and social) at the Adams Mystery Playhouse (AMP), 2406 Federal. At this introductory meeting you’ll have an opportunity to learn about the background, purpose and possible outcomes of the project, the meaning of streetscape with illustrative examples, and brainstorm a list of challenges and opportunities unique to Federal in developing a streetscape plan. You can also learn about the important next step of the process, a public design workshop scheduled in early April. During the past six months, a collection of Partnership members, design professionals, and community activists have met to define the meaning of streetscape unique to Federal and chart a public process to develop a set of streetscape master plans and desired uses.

Importantly, Adams Mystery Playhouse is donating a ticket to a free dinner and show, which will be given to one lucky participant at the meeting! If you’ve not had an opportunity to visit the Playhouse, don’t miss this opportunity. For more information about the streetscape effort, visit the Partnership’s dedicated Web page to the project. Hope to see you Thursday!
