Dog Days of Summer / Community Potluck – JPUN’s third annual “Dog Days of Summer” canine festivities and community potluck is  Tues., Aug. 8 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Jefferson Park Pavilion (23rd Ave. & Clay St.). All friendly dogs (leashed) and their families are welcome to attend this FREE event. Please bring a side dish, dessert or something to share with your neighbors for the potluck, and don’t forget the poo bags. The event is in conjunction with National Night Out and Denver Days to help neighbors get to know each other and get involved with their community.

Music at Jefferson Park –  Organized by JPUN, 2785 Speer, and neighborhood volunteers, the sixth annual concert series was just the ticket to family friendly fun and ongoing community building. Music @ Jefferson Park would not be possible without the tremendous support of local businesses, Jefferson Park residents and the Northwest Denver community. Thank you all for another great season!

CPD Holds Public Visioning Session for Central Platte Valley Auraria District On July 13, 2017, almost 70 Denver residents and staff of the Office of Community Development and Planning held a Visioning session for the Central Platte Valley Auraria District. The District is bounded by I-25, Speer Boulevard, and Auraria Parkway, and includes Elitch’s, the Pepsi Center, the Aquarium, the Children’s Museum, and the adjoining parks and river front. The goal of the session was to imagine and record what the District could be like if redeveloped with higher density, engaging the river front, and including a mix of parks and developed property.

CPD will hold two more sessions, the next identifying Strategies to implement the Vision expressed on the 13th, to be followed with a meeting to confirm the Strategies and review a draft of an Amendment to the Downtown Area Denver Plan addressing the District. The dates of these sessions will be announced on the CPD website at
