PARKING ADVISORY FROM DENVER PUBLIC WORKS
Parking Restrictions around Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
Have a Game Plan for Parking This Football Season!
DENVER —On Sunday, December 10th, the Denver Broncos will host a regular season game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. As excitement builds for the football season, Denver Public Works is reminding people to pay attention to posted parking restrictions around the stadium and surrounding neighborhoods. Denver’s Right of Way Enforcement agents will enforce posted parking regulations in the area during the following games:
Broncos Regular Season
Sunday, December 10
Sunday, December 31
On Street Parking
Posted signs in the stadium area restrict parking to vehicles with the correct residential parking permit posted in the window from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on weekdays and from 12:00pm to 9:00pm on weekends. Those vehicles that park without appropriate permits will be cited and towed to a temporary impound lot in Denver at 2000 W. 3rd Avenue.
If you are eligible for a Residential Parking Permit (RPP), now is a great time to make sure your permits are current. You are likely eligible for RPP if you have a sign with posted restrictions on your street. To find out more, call 311 or visit denvergov.org/rpp.
There will be handicap placard enforcement for all handicap parking lots on-site at the stadium. Anyone who would like to park in these lots will be asked to show proof of their handicap placard registration before they will be allowed to enter.
Off-Street Parking (parking lots)
Drivers should also be cautious when utilizing a parking lot in the area.
If you are not parking in one of the parking lots on stadium property, choose only those locations that 1) display a special event parking sign issued by the City & County of Denver, or 2) are existing approved parking lots clearly managed by reputable companies.
The signs display the seal of the City & County of Denver and include the address of the parking location. These signs were issued because of the proliferation of illegal parking lots taking drivers’ money, only to have the drivers return to their vehicles to find it ticketed and/or towed. When parking in a lot with the City & County of Denver sign posted, drivers can be assured that they will be parked legally and are not in danger of tickets, tows or being “parked in” (blocked or trapped in a space by other vehicles).
Denver Public Works also encourages people to use public transportation when attending games. The stadium is easily accessible by light rail or bus. Please check with RTD on schedules prior to planning your trip. Go to rtd-denver.com or call the RTD Telephone Information Center at 303-299-6000.
The stadium is also conveniently located adjacent to Denver bike paths, and it is equipped with over three hundred individual bike racks. Check out denvergov.org/bikemap to plan your route or pick up a free copy of the 2017 Denver Bike Map at your local recreation center or Denver City Council office.
